We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Village on the Green community. We learned Thursday, July 23, that one of our Health Center residents tested positive for the virus. By way of recap, we have five total active resident cases of COVID-19, three residents are being cared for in the hospital and two are being cared for in our community.

We also received the results of recent team member testing, and while the majority of the results were negative, we learned that 12 of our team members tested positive for the virus. By way of recap, we have a total of 16 active cases of COVID-19 among team members and individuals who provide care and service to our residents. These individuals are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.

We understand that you have concerns about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.

As cases of COVID-19 have increased in Florida, Lifespace and Village on the Green continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We encourage everyone to practice social distancing, and please remember to wear a mask or face covering when interact with others in public settings. Proper hand hygiene including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of infection. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.

We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Village on the Green management team.

Thank you.
